Monday 6th October

Well the last week I haven’t been able to get out and play with Blossom as we have had terrible weather at night when I have got to the farm. I sit in work all day and it’s usually sunny and dry outside but cold, and as soon as I get home and ready to go to the farm it rains!! It hasn’t even just been little showers, it is really heavy rain one night we even got hailstones/snow!! So as you can guess I haven’t been very happy about this!!

So this weekend we were holding a local competition over at Vogrie country park, it was great only a 10 minute drive instead of the usual 10hours. I have another pony just now on trial so I was riding him this weekend but decided to take Blossom along too just to get her out and about and used to travelling in the lorry.

Blossom loaded and travelled well on Friday and once we arrived and got everything set up I took her out for a little play. We were only out for about 20mins as it was getting dark so we didn’t do anything very interesting. But it felt really good to be out playing with her again and she seemed to enjoy it too.

The weather on Saturday was terrible, I don’t think it actually stopped raining all day! So I didn’t do anything with Blossom as it wouldn’t have been fun for either off us playing in that weather.

Sunday morning I woke up to a very frosty morning, what a change from yesterday.. So I made the most of it and went out to play with Blossom before the competition started. We just played around with the seven games and the added in transitions and a couple of changes of direction. I then drove her from zone 3 into the arena, and then played with ‘put your nose on this’ using all the equipment that was still in the arena from yesterday she was really good and seemed to enjoy the game. It was nearly time for the competition to start so we finished on that. I intended to ride Blossom later but we ran out of time as I was helping with the competition.

Hopefully this week I will have better weather and will get out to play with Blossom, fingers crossed!

So cool that Blossom travelled well and that all your play at home is now being used for a purpose at a show. The bond you get at home really shows when you go somewhere else doesn't it. Great that Blossom was enjoying herself in a different environment. Keep it up.
